England fast bowler Chris Jordan secured his maiden T20I hat-trick on Sunday, June 23. Playing against the USA in Barbados, his birthplace, Jordan efficiently dismantled the USA’s lower order. During the 19th over of the match, he dismissed Ali Khan, Nosthush Kenjige, and Saurabh Netravalkar in consecutive deliveries to achieve this milestone.

Jordan humorously recounted his thoughts leading up to the hat-trick ball. When Nasser Hussain asked if he had considered bowling a wide down the leg side—an error he had made against South Africa in a similar situation earlier in his career—Jordan laughed and admitted he had. He expressed his delight at completing the hat-trick, noting that it was particularly special to achieve it in Barbados.

“Very nice to do this at a special place like this,” Chris Jordan said during the mid-innings break. Reflecting on the team’s performance, he added, “I thought we worked out the conditions well. Rash [Adil Rashid] came on and controlled one end, and the way Livi [Liam Livingstone] bowled set the game up for us. Points first and foremost, but if we get the opportunity to get our run rate up we’ll have a look at that.”

On the day, England restricted the USA to just 115 runs despite the co-hosts starting strongly in the powerplay. After the initial six overs, England’s bowlers, particularly spinners Adil Rashid and Liam Livingstone, tightened their grip on the game, choking the USA’s scoring. Jordan then polished off the innings with precise, wicket-to-wicket deliveries.
