In the 2nd qualifier of the inaugural season of the International League T20, MI Emirates are locking horns with Gulf Giants at the Dubai international stadium. In the second over of the game, Giants’ pacer, Chris Jordan pulled off a flying catch while standing at first slips to send back MI’s opener, Andre Fletcher off the bowling of Carlos Brathwaite.
Earlier in the game, Giant’s skipper, Lorcan Tucker won the toss and decided to bat first his decision hasn’t gone down well as they were reeling at 34/2 after the first six overs. However, Giants suffered a huge blow in the second over itself when they over Andre Fletcher.
On the 4th ball of the 2nd over, Brathwaite delivered a full ball inside the tramline and Andre Flecther took teh bait and attempted to slash it over cover but only managed to get the outside edge only to be caught by Chris Jordan. The slip fielder leaped high in the air to take a stunning catch. Jordan grabbed the catch with the tip of his fingers, his cap fell off as he came down but was in full control of the ball. No heroics from Fletcher today.
Here is the video of the catch by Chris Jordan:
