After the treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Anirudh Chaudhry has emailed the three-member independent probe panel to assist them in the sexual harassment case against CEO Rahul Johri, now the interim BCCI president CK Khanna and interim BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary have been summoned for deposition in this case.
On Sunday (November 11), Khanna and Amitabh received emails from the probe panel where they have been asked for deposition.
A senior BCCI official told PTI, “Yes both CK Khanna and Amitabh have received mails to join Anirudh for a deposition in the sexual harassment case on Monday at the BCCI headquarters.
“This is the right decision by the panel to call all the office bearers for helping them assist in the probe. I believe all the employees (male and female) of BCCI should also be called for deposition.”
Earlier, the three-member independent probe panel had given a deadline of November 9 for anyone wishing to assist them in this case to email them. On Friday (November 9), the BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry has become the first high-profile BCCI office-bearer to come out for assisting in this case by sending a mail to the probe panel.
Till the date, the former BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit chief Neeraj Kumar is the only high-profile man who has given the deposition to the panel. On last Saturday (November 10), he appeared for deposition via Skype.
While Monday (November 12) is the last day of deposition, this Thursday (November 15) will be the last day for the panel to submit their report to Committee of Administrators (CoA).
