Corona Test for PSL Players,Shocking Results Revealed

The Pakistan Cricket Board had conducted tests to check any positive cases of CoronaVirus among everyone involved with the PSL. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that the coronavirus tests conducted on a total of 128 persons, that includes players, match officials, support staff, coaches and broadcasters have all been negative.  These tests were conducted on Tuesday as the PCB keenly awaited the results of the same. The tests were taken as a precautionary measure after a suspected COVID-19 came up.

It has come to light that all the personal awaiting test results have now been released from quarantine. as they all head to meet their family members are passing the COVID-19 test with flying colors. The PCB had earlier decided to call off the ongoing Pakistan Super League as they had entered the knock out stages. To avoid mass gatherings, few games of the same were played behind closed doors.

In a press release, PCB Chief Executive, Wasim Khan was quoted saying, “It was absolutely critical for the integrity and credibility of the HBL Pakistan Super League and the Pakistan Cricket Board that all players, support personnel, broadcasters and match officials, those who had decided to stay back till the end of the tournament, tested negative for COVID-19,”

Wasim Khan continued with “In this background, the PCB is pleased with the outcome of the results and happy that all these players and officials have rejoined their families without any health and safety doubts or concerns. The PCB has iterated that it will be putting its focus on the safety measures for the betterment of its employees. The board also wished for cricket to survive the storm and make a comeback in the future. Moreover, the PCB chief put forth the necessary steps to avoid getting affected by the pandemic”

Wasim Khan’s statement ended with, “I urge cricket fans and followers to exercise absolute caution and value their as well as others’ well-being. They can overcome this pandemic by maintaining hygiene, avoiding close physical contact like handshaking and hugs, staying away from gatherings, avoiding close contact when anyone who is experiencing cough and fever and spreading awareness about safety measures.”

All the foreign players, match officials support staff and other internationals who traveled to Pakistan and were participating in PSL have already flown back to their respective countries and cries.

The list includes many star players in the likes of Jason Roy, James Vince, Mitchell McClenaghan, and many others who had flown back earlier and backed off after the coronavirus started to spread across the world.
