CoronaVirus Causes Wedding problems for Australia Cricketers

Coronavirus has stopped all sporting events across the globe. The global pandemic brought all sporting activities to a halt with many major activities like The Tokyo Olympics and the UEFA Champions League matches being postponed or canceled. Similarly, All kinds of cricket have been canceled across the globe and the chances of cricket resuming are very bleak right now. With all mass gathering events canceled due to the virus, the pandemic has led to the cancellation of weddings. A few Australia cricketers planned have gone down the drain because of the same.

As per reports from ESPNCricinfo, as many as eight cricketers from Australia were scheduled to tie the knot in this period. All the cricketers have now been forced to cancel their wedding ceremonies due to the virus. Many Australian cricketers prefer to get married in the off-season of the game. The month of April does not clash have many matches schedule of the Australian national cricket team.  However, things aren’t the same as they are in every previous April’s.

Australia has been badly hit due to the pandemic spread of the CoronaVirus across the globe. The pandemic spread of the COVID-19 Virus has affected more than 5,550 people across Australia taking away more than 30 lives. Originated in China, the virus has now affected more than 1,117,860 people taking 59,200 lives.  Australia has been under lockdown, and governments have advised people to stay quarantined inside their houses and maintain social distancing if they step out of the house. The localities are only allowed to go outside if they need any medical of house essential supplies. The Prime Minister of Australia has said that this pandemic might go for as long as 6 months.

The eight cricketers who have been forced to cancel their weddings are leg spinner Adam Zampa, Alister McDermott, Andrew Tye, Katelyn Fryett. Jackson Bird,  Jess Jonassen, Mitchell Swepson, and, D’arcy Short.

Leading Australian cricketers Pat Cummins and Glenn Maxwell might also join the above list.  Recently, Pat Cummins had announced his engagement to his girlfriend. Maxwell got engaged in the last week of February to his girlfriend Vini Raman. Now due to the global pandemic, both cricketers might have to postpone their weddings until next year.
