With the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5, hotels in the city are capitalizing on the soaring demand by charging exorbitant rates, reaching around INR 50,000 per night. The intense rivalry between the two cricketing giants has led to a massive influx of fans seeking accommodations to witness the thrilling contest.
In response to the overwhelming inquiries, hospital authorities have also witnessed a spike in requests from fans seeking alternative stay options. Some hospitals are offering attractive packages that include lodging facilities, allowing fans to save money on accommodation while fulfilling their health needs. These packages often come with the provision of a full-body check-up and an overnight stay, providing fans with an affordable and convenient option to witness the match.
Dr. Paras Shah, Director of Sannidhya Multi Speciality Hospital in Bhopal, explained, “Since it’s a hospital, they are asking for a full-body check-up and an overnight stay so both of their purposes are fulfilled, saving money on lodging and getting their health check done.” This innovative approach has garnered significant interest from fans eager to make the most of the memorable occasion.
Dr. Nikhil Lala, the Hospitals’ medical director, also commented on the surge in demand, stating, “We too are getting inquiries for 24-48 hours stays in our hospital, particularly around October 15, as we also have a full-body check-up package.” He further revealed that other hospitals in the city are facing a similar situation and are contemplating the introduction of additional health packages to cater to the demand.
