The veteran Indian batter, Ajinkya Rahane, on Monday, June 6, is celebrating his 34th birthday and on that auspicious occasion, he was showered with wishes from every nook and corner of the cricketing fraternity. The veteran made his debut for India more than a decade ago and he has often played a number of match-winning knocks across formats.

After 2018, Ajinkya Rahane went out of contention for a place in the national limited-overs team. Following India’s Test series against South Africa earlier this year, Rahane eventually got dropped from the Test squad as well and he missed the two-match series against Sri Lanka. He, along with Cheteshwar Pujara, had to face the ax.

Even as Pujara has made a comeback after his successful County stint with Sussex, Ajinkya Rahane will not be playing for India in the one-off Test against England at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. Earlier, Ajinkya was deemed as one of his team’s prolific run-makers in overseas Tests.

Ajinkya Rahane was recently seen plying his trade for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Shreyas Iyer, in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He started his campaign with a decent knock against four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but lost his form from there on.

Subsequently, Ajinkya Rahane was dropped as KKR did quite a few experiments with their opening combination. Rahane then made a comeback to the playing XI, but failed to make a significant impact with the bat in hand.

As far as his birthday is concerned, the likes of Virat Kohli, Harbhajan Singh, Virender Sehwag, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik, and many others poured in love and admiration for him. Here are the wishes that poured in from the cricketing fraternity:
