On Friday, in the promo released by Cricket South Africa (CSA) ahead of the upcoming freedom Test series between India and South Africa, one can see some of the past legends like Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, etc. The video also features some of the moments from the previous Test series between the two nations in 2018 where the hosts won the series by a 2-1 margin.

The promo titled ‘First Ka Thirst,’ shows Shastri highlighting India’s achievements in the rainbow nation before predicting a maiden Test series win in South Africa. He also made a dig at the Australian cricket team at the conclusion of the video, alluding to India’s first-ever Test series triumph in Australia during the 2018-19 tour.

This time around, India has a practical chance of registering a Test series win in South Africa citing the inexperience in Proteas’ batting line-up and their bowling unit also received a setback on Monday when Anrich Nortje was ruled out of the three-match series. Additionally, Quinton de Kock is expected to miss the last couple of Tests as he will be going on paternity leave.

If India manages to win the Test series in South Africa, it will be their first-ever series victory in the country. The last time India toured South Africa in 2018, the Kohli-Shastri duo was still at the helm on their first overseas assignment. Interestingly, this will also be the first assignment of the new collaboration that Head Coach Rahul Dravid and Test skipper Virat Kohli have undertaken.
