CSK CEO Predicts Future Of MS Dhoni In The Franchise

The current CEO of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kasi Viswanathan reckons that the skipper MS Dhoni is the heart and soul of the franchise will not be surprised if the enigmatic former Indian skipper becomes “Team Boss” in the upcoming decade or so. Dhoni is celebrating his 39th birthday on Tuesday and CSK, which is his spiritual home, made the day a grand one on social media for their very own “Thala”.’

Talking about the same, during Star Sports; Tamil show, “Dhoni Nazhi Thani Vazhi”, Viswanathan said, “In 10 years from now, my feeling is that he will be a permanent fixture in Chennai as the Chennai Super Kings boss.”

Since the inception of the IPL, Dhoni has been leading the CSK and they have always qualified for the playoffs and managed to win the title three times in all 10 appearances the franchise has made in the 12 edition of the tournament.

Viswanathan’s statement can’t be ignored as he one of the closed people for the CSK co-owner N Srinivasan. It will have to be seen if MS decides to enter the field of sports administration by deciding to manage the franchise in the future. Viswanathan also explained how Dhoni became Chennai’s favorite “Thala”.

Describing the same, Viswanathan said, “Only one thing I knew that he’s able to get the best out of the team by himself. He’s able to get the best out of any member of the team. That’s why we’d call him Thala.”

On Dhoni’s birthday, a lot of his former and current teammates left no stone unturned in coming up with birthday greetings for Mahi. The players like Virender Sehwag and Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Suresh Raina, Kuldeep Yadav, and VVS Laxman were among the first to wish Dhoni on his special day.

Dhoni played his last international game in July 2019, when India suffered an unforgettable loss against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup. He was scheduled to make a comeback to competitive cricket during the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has been postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
