Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have recently announced the setting up of their third international Super Kings Academy in Sydney, Australia as well. However, the other international academies of this popular franchise are in Dallas in the USA and the United Kingdom as well.

However, the Super Kings Academy in Sydney is going to be situated at Cricket Central, 161, Silverwater Road, Sydney Olympic Park. The state-of-the-art centre will have indoor and outdoor training facilities as well throughout the year. Cricket coaching for boys and girls will get underway from September as well.

“We are happy to extend our special journey with Australia, which began with the inception of IPL in 2008. Australia is a champion country with a strong sporting culture and rich cricketing legacy. The Super Kings Academy will tap into and help groom cricketers, both boys and girls, adding to the already strong system in the country,” KS Viswanathan, CSK CEO, said.

“Geographical boundaries are shrinking rapidly in cricket over the last few years. With presence in India, USA, UK and now Australia, we have the opportunity to develop the next generation of cricketers through our world class facilities, strong coaching curriculum, exchange programmes and more,” he further added.

However, the Super Kings share a great bond with Australia as some legendary players from Down Under have donned their jerseys like Matthew Hayden, Shane Watson, and current batting coach Michael Hussey as well. It seemed a matter of time before a Super Kings Academy was set up in the sports-loving nation as well.
