Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) fast bowler Tushar Deshpande recently celebrated his engagement to his childhood crush, Nabha Gaddamwar, in a lavish ceremony held in Mumbai on June 12. The 28-year-old pacer gained attention during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season opener as the tournament’s first Impact Player substitution.
Following in the footsteps of his CSK teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad, who recently tied the knot with his long-term girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar, Deshpande announced his engagement on Instagram with stunning photos capturing the special moments. The couple proudly displayed their engagement rings and even posed with a red cricket ball. Deshpande expressed his excitement in the caption, stating, “She got promoted from my school crush to MY FIANCE!”

Deshpande’s engagement ceremony was attended by his CSK teammate and star batsman Shivam Dube, who shared a photo with the couple on his Instagram story.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, extending his congratulations, welcomed Deshpande to the club and commented, “Congratulations bhauuuuuuu Welcome to the clubbbb @tushardeshpande96.” Other cricketers, including Mumbai Indians’ Suryakumar Yadav and CSK players Simarjeet Singh and Deepak Chahar, also took the opportunity to offer their well wishes and congratulations.

The 16th edition of the IPL showcased Deshpande as a standout performer for the MS Dhoni-led CSK team. He emerged as their leading wicket-taker and secured the sixth position in the Purple Cap list of IPL 2023. Throughout the season, Deshpande claimed 21 wickets in 16 matches, maintaining an average of 26.85 and an economy rate of 9.92.

Although he had a challenging performance in the IPL final against the Gujarat Titans (GT), where he conceded 56 runs without taking a wicket in his four-over spell, Deshpande’s efforts contributed to CSK’s victory. The team successfully chased down the mammoth total of 214 posted by GT, winning the match by five wickets using the DLS method.
