Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been playing cricket for much more than a decade now. In India, he is one of the most followed cricketers and received a lot of love from all over the nation.

Yuvraj is has seen a lot of ups and downs in his cricketing career. Despite having a tumor in his chest, he became the player of the tournament in the 2011 World Cup, which Indian had won. It was India’s first triumph in a World Cup final after a period of 28 years. Needless to say, Yuvraj is a legend of Indian cricket.

The flamboyant all-rounder is in the 15-member Indian squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Here are 5 reasons that he should be featured in one of India’s playing XI in CT 2017:

1. Yuvraj is an entertainer

On his day, Yuvraj Singh is one of the most elegant and classy cricketers in the world. The southpaw has the ability to play the most impressive drives with such ease that he makes batting look like a walk in the park. He can perfectly time the ball and is worth watching live in a stadium. Considering his record, he has a plethora of big scores in international and domestic cricket and this is a proof of his sound technique and ability.

2. Cleanest hitters

Yuvraj is one of the biggest hitters of the cricket ball and this has been accounted throughout his career. The most famous incident related to this is obviously when he smashed six sixes in the T20 World Cup 2007 against England. His ability to pick the length of a ball early makes him a stand-out player and also one of the most dangerous hitters the game has ever seen. He is a real asset to the Indian team. He has the capability to hit the ball right from the word “go” and that power hasn’t diminished even a bit even after his prolonged career.

3. Excellent fielder

During his early career, the southpaw Yuvraj was one of the best fielders in the world. He may have lost a bit of his flux due to age but he can still get some phenomenal catches. In the final of World Cup 20111 against Sri Lanka, he had saved at least 10-12 crucial runs with his tremendous fielding and that helped the Indian team while chasing.

4. Best All-rounder

Yuvraj also possesses a unique ability to bowl as well as bat well. During the 2011 World Cup, his bowling helped the Indian team in crucial times when the others weren’t able to get the wickets. His ability to pick wickets at any point of the innings makes him an exceptional choice to have as a back-up. His slinging, round-arm action can be hard to pick up and he can make the ball turn on dry pitches aas well.

5. Comeback King

If there’s one person who knows how to comeback, both personally and professionally, it’s no one but Yuvraj. Just after the World Cup in 2011, he was diagnosed with cancer. He took a year off to cure the disease and came back to the national squad. Similarly, in the T20 World Cup 2014, he was expelled after he played very slow innings in the Final. He stormed back into competition and even scored a contentious 150+ score in the series against England to remind everyone of his permanent class.
