The India vs Pakistan Super Four clash in the Asia Cup 2025 may have been one-sided on the scoreboard, but it was packed with drama, controversies, and unforgettable moments. While India cruised to a comfortable six-wicket win, the match offered everything from heated exchanges to eyebrow-raising celebrations that kept fans buzzing long after the final ball.

The spotlight first turned to Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan, who celebrated his fifty with a gun-firing gesture. The move sparked debate, with many calling it inappropriate. Yet Farhan was unapologetic, insisting the criticism doesn’t affect him. His gesture, however, was soon overshadowed by India’s fiery response with the bat.

A scintillating opening stand from Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma powered India’s chase. Sharma stole the show with a blistering 74 off just 39 deliveries, while Gill struck a fluent 47 off 28 balls. Their partnership dismantled Pakistan’s attack and set up an easy win at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria didn’t hold back in his analysis, drawing a sharp comparison between Farhan’s celebration and India’s batting fireworks.

“Farhan signalled an AK-47, but Gill and Abhishek launched a BrahMos missile of their own with the bat – and Sharma even added a flying kiss for style. That’s how you do it,” Danish Kaneria quipped. He praised the young Indian duo for their fearless counterattack, adding, “With openers like Abhishek and Gill, even 200 runs can look insufficient on this kind of pitch.”

Pakistan, on the other hand, continued to struggle with their batting choices. They promoted Fakhar Zaman to open alongside Farhan, and while he started brightly with three boundaries, his innings ended on 15 after edging behind off Hardik Pandya. The dismissal stirred controversy as Zaman believed the ball had bounced before wicketkeeper Sanju Samson completed the catch.

Danish Kaneria, however, dismissed the complaints outright. “Pakistan will cry foul, but it was a clean catch. Samson had the gloves well under the ball. This is just another excuse to cover a defeat that was never in doubt,” he remarked.

In the end, India’s young guns turned Pakistan’s firepower into frustration, ensuring the contest was remembered less for Farhan’s celebration and more for Gill and Sharma’s ruthless dominance.
