Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has come up with a suggestion that Arshdeep Singh could be a fantastic option for Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup and the Asia Cup. The southpaw pacer has been a consistent performer in the IPL for Punjab Kings and his exploits in the tournament helped him receive his maiden national call-up for the Ireland tour and the first T20I against England.

In his debut game for India in Southampton, Arshdeep Singh registered figures of two for 18 in 3.3 overs, including a maiden over. During the second ODI against West Indies, many fans were unhappy that Singh didn’t make the cut for the starting lineup as India opted for Avesh Khan instead.

Many have already backed the 23-year-old to be in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and the latest to join the bandwagon is Kaneria. On his YouTube channel, Danish Kaneria opined that Singh could be a valuable asset for India in the World Cup and the Asia Cup in August. Kaneria also said that the 23-year-old should be in the lineup for the third ODI against West Indies.

Dinesh Kaneria explained, “Mark my words. Arshdeep will play the third ODI and make an impact too. Arshdeep has the art, and he uses his mind while bowling. He bowls sensibly and knows how to take wickets. He can be a fantastic option for the Indian team for T20 World Cup and maybe for Asia Cup as well. Asia Cup will be held in Dubai and he can be successful being a left-arm pacer.”

The former Pakistan cricketer also said that he would like to see T. Natarajan back playing for India again.

Elaborating it further, Danish Kaneria said, “I want to also see Natarajan playing for India again. He can make an impact just like he did in Australia. He is a fantastic bowler, but India has currently got an incredible bowling lot. Team management has to decide how to utilize its bowlers.”
