Indian Premier League witnessed a dramatic and costly moment during the high-pressure clash between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at the Wankhede Stadium, as Dasun Shanaka threw away his wicket after a terrible mix-up with teammate Dhruv Jurel. Shanaka responded instantly and sprinted towards the striker’s end. Jurel initially committed to the run as well but suddenly changed his mind midway and turned back towards his crease. By then, Shanaka had already crossed too far down the pitch to recover.

The confusion left both Rajasthan batters stranded at the same end, creating panic in the middle. Mumbai Indians reacted quickly as the throw came back towards Bosch near the stumps.
For a brief moment, Shanaka appeared to have a lifeline after Bosch fumbled while collecting the ball. But the MI all-rounder recovered brilliantly, gathered the ball cleanly on the second attempt and broke the stumps before Shanaka could dive back safely.

Replays confirmed Shanaka was comfortably short of his crease. The frustration on the Sri Lankan batter’s face was evident as he walked back after playing such a valuable cameo in a must-win encounter.
