On this day in IPL 2013, David Miller smashed an unbelievable century against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. The left-hander stepped in when Punjab was struggling for 51/3 while chasing 191. Miller scored a sensational 38-ball 101 and enabled Kings XI Punjab to a miraculous six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 51st IPL match.

David Miller played one of the most breathtaking knocks in IPL history and stitched together an unbeaten 130-run stand for the fourth wicket with Rajgopal Satish (27). The brilliant innings enabled Punjab to chase the 191-run target with 12 balls to spare. At one stage of the match, Punjab was struggling at 68/4 in 10 overs and 85/4 after 13, salvaging a win from here was almost impossible.

The South African left-hander pleasantly surprised one and all with his extra-ordinary power-hitting. He managed a total of eight fours and seven sixes. He completed his century and the win with a massive six off Chris Gayle in the last ball of the 18th over. In last five overs, Punjab scored an enormous 99 runs as it rained sixes and fours from the blade of Miller.

The turn-around began from the 14th over when Miler was dropped twice — first by Gayle and then by Kohli — and he went on to score 17 runs from that over bowled by Vinay Kumar. Miller was on 41 at that time at and the drop proved to be the match-losing one. RP Singh and Bangalore were left awestruck as Miller smashed him for 26 runs in the over that included two sixes and three fours.

Those two overs changed the whole complexion of the match and Punjab completed the chase handsomely. Earlier, Chris Gayle smashed the Punjab bowlers to all parts of the ground. He scored a magnificent 61 from 33 balls with six fours and three sixes. His partner Cheteshwar Pujara scored a run-a-ball 51 which eventually took RCB scored an imposing 190/3.
