The veteran Australian opener, David Warner has always been one of the most crucial cogs for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In fact, among the foreign players, he is the all-time leading run-getter in the IPL. In 150 games, the southpaw has amassed as many as 5449 runs with four centuries and 50 half-centuries.

David Warner has also won the Orange Cap more than twice and he also led the SRH to their maiden IPL title in 2016. However, he had a rough time in the IPL 2021, as he only managed to score 195 runs at an average of 24.37 and a strike rate of 107.73, and eventually, the SRH management replaced him with Kane Williamson as the team’s captain.

In the UAE leg of IPL 2021, Warner played just a couple of games after which he was removed from the eleven, once and for all. Jason Roy opened the batting for the Sunrisers from there on along with Wriddhiman Saha and Abhishek Sharma.

Meanwhile, a supporter wanted the Orange Army to retain David Warner ahead of the mega auction for the IPL 2022. He also called Warner a “legend. The fan took to Instagram and commented, “Please retain Warner n next season. He is a legend, love you Warner bhai.”

David Warner decided to reply to the fan. He reverted with four ‘laughing out loud’ emojis. The emoticons pretty much suggested that it would take more than a miracle for SRH to retain him going into the mega auction.

He captioned teh picture as, “Thank You for the memories created. To all the fans, you have been a driving force for our team always to give 100 percent. I can’t thank you all enough for the support shown. It’s been a great ride. My family and I are going to miss you all.”
