There have been a few instances in cricket where a batter had no intention of walking off the field and stared at the umpire even after getting out. Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, David Warner replicated the incident in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) as he tried to fool the umpire by staring at him and not walking off even after edging a delivery.

Delhi Capitals have won three games in IPL 2022 but their performance against RR hasn’t been good so far. Bowling first, they conceded as many as 222 runs and managed to scalp just a couple of wickets as Jos Buttler played a special knock of 116 runs from 65 balls. Chasing the mammoth total DC lost their first wicket on a total of 43 in form of David Warner.

David Warner has been in form this season but he was dismissed at a personal score of 28 runs. Prasidh Krishna was bowling the fifth over of the innings and Warner tried to make room by shuffling outside leg on the third delivery. Krishna followed him and Warner edged the ball to the Wicketkeeper. Surprisingly, Warner stared down at the umpire and pretended as if he hadn’t nicked it.

Here is the video of the dismissal of David Warner:
