SRH skipper, David Warner’s brilliance on the field was good enough to send back Nicholas Pooran on a diamond duck. Chris Gayle nudged the ball to David Warner at the cover, and the two batsmen (Gayle and Pooran) started for a quick single. But then, a scintillating direct hit from Warner caught Pooran a few inches short of his crease. And, Pooran walked back to the pavilion for a duck without even facing a single delivery.

The West Indian left-hander has been going through a rough patch in his career in IPL 2021. In the 4 innings that he has batted this year, Pooran has recorded 3 ducks and averages an abysmal 2.25 with the willow.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) side would have finally breathed a sigh of relief, as they registered their very first win in IPL 2021. In what can be termed as a perfect performance, the David Warner-led side outsmarted the Punjab Kings (PBKS) outfit in every department of the game on 21st April 2021.

After wielding the willow first, under the captaincy of KL Rahul, PBKS has been struggling their way through to a below-par total of 120 in their allotted 20 overs. The Hyderabad outfit produced an excellent performance with the ball in hand. None of the SRH bowlers went at an economy rate of more than 8 runs an over, and 3 out of the 6 bowlers that the ‘Orange Army’ used went at an economy rate of less than 6 runs an over.

The Hyderabad side had a comfortable win. The David Warner-led side reached the target with 9 wickets and 8 balls to spare to open their account in IPL 2021. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will now be locking horns with the Delhi Capitals (DC) side on 25th April 2021.
