David Warner’s endearment for India is no secret. From grooving to Telugu tunes on Instagram to embracing Bollywood beats and making heartfelt gestures towards Indian fans, the Australian opener has immersed himself in India’s cultural richness. His affinity for the country often seems to transcend borders, hinting at the possibility of him adopting Indian citizenship.
In a delightful video shared by the Delhi Capitals on their official Instagram ahead of their IPL match against the Gujarat Titans, Warner’s fondness for India was once again on full display. The video captured a lighthearted moment amidst the intense practice sessions at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
In the clip, humorously captioned “Finallyyyyyy, Warner now has a _______?”, a geared-up Warner showcased his fluent Hindi skills while playfully declining various offers presented by the host, Vibhu Varshney.

From turning down movie invitations to free meals with a casual “Nahi Yaar!” in Hindi, Warner’s demeanour changed dramatically when the host mentioned the prospect of getting an Aadhar card for free. Suddenly, Warner’s excitement peaked as he exclaimed “Chalo Chalo Chalo!” and even hoisted the host, rushing off to procure his Aadhar card.

While Warner’s enthusiasm for Indian culture continues to charm fans, the Delhi Capitals faced a setback when he sustained a thumb injury during a match against Lucknow Super Giants on April 12th. This forced him to sit out the subsequent game against the Gujarat Titans. However, Warner made a comeback in their recent clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. In his absence, Australia’s rising star Jake Fraser-McGurk filled the opening slot.
