Delhi Capitals (DC) have found the best possible way to reward their veteran opener, David Warner for his match-winning exploits against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). After the star opener knocked the wind out of his former franchise in what was touted as a ‘grudge match’, DC came up with an Instagram mashup for their decorated opening batter. It was a well-edited mashup of David Warner in Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ avatar.

David Warner could not have asked for a better tribute, as in recent times he has become a social media sensation with his reels and mini-clips of his avatars of some of the biggest Indian blockbuster characters. Captioning the post in which DC made a mashup of Warner as ‘Pushpa’, the titular character of the Telugu blockbuster movie., they wrote: “Hence proved, David Warner 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐄 hai”.

David Warner unleashed beast mode on Thursday at the Brabourne Stadium against SRH as he played a fiery knock of 92 in just 58 balls, with the help of 12 boundaries and 3 sixes, helping DC to register a 21-run win over SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).  He said he needed no extra motivation to take down his former franchise. Warner, an IPL great, had risen to stardom during his stint at SunRisers Hyderabad for whom he scored more than 4000 runs.

David Warner led SRH to an IPL title in 2016 but only after 8 poor matches in IPL 2021, the team management sack him as captain and dropped him from the team. It was apparent that Warner had issues with the SRH management and it was no surprise when he was released before the IPL 2022 mega auction.

However, Warner has bounced back in style from the slump in form in IPL 2022 with consistent performances for Delhi Capital. He saved his best against his former franchise as he took down SRH pacers and spinners alike in a masterclass.
