The South African skipper, Dean Elgar witnessed an unlucky dismissal in the ongoing opening Test o the three-match series at Lord’s. Earlier in the game, the visitors bundled out the hosts or a meager score o 65 with Olli Pope managing to score a half-century as Kagiso Rabada took a 5-wicket haul.
Coming out to bat, the South African openers, Dean Elgar and Sarel Erwee gave a solid start to the Proteas as they made a partnership of 85 runs. However, their partnership witnessed an unfortunate end.
It was a real moment of fortune for England, as they finally got their breakthrough. James Anderson roared in celebration as Dean Elgar walked off shaking his head. The southpaw opener was looking to work off his pads, it clipped the thigh guard and then bobbled back off his right arm, Elgar unable to do anything about it as the ball trundled gently into the middle and leg stump.
