About debate has emerged after a questionable moment was seen during the first innings of the first Test between Australia and India in Nagpur. And, former Australian Test captain Tim Paine was among those who noticed Ravindra Jadeja was doing something ahead of one of his overs. With Alex Carey and Peter Handscomb in the middle and the visitors at 120-5, Jadeja came to bowl for his 16th over who had the figures of 3-30.

Meanwhile, the TV broadcast captured Ravindra Jadeja who was either taking something off the hand of one of his teammates or from inside his hand, with his right hand as well. After that, he rubbed his hands and finger near and around the ball but it was uncertain what exactly was taking place – some suggesting he was putting something on his spinning finger. When the video of the moment was shared with Tim Paine on Twitter, he replied: “Interesting.”

However, Ravindra Jadeja claimed all five wickets in one in the second session on Thursday. He started with the key wicket of Marnus Labuschagne who was one run shy of his maiden Test fifty in India as well. Jadeja then removed Matt Renshaw for a golden duck after the latter missed the flick shot as well.

Ravindra Jadeja also got the massive wicket of Steve Smith. Unlike Labuschagne, Steve Smith played for the turn but the ball went straight through and he got out. “The ball was coming out of the hands well, the line and length were also good. The wicket doesn’t have much bounce so I was focussing on bowling stump to stump. I knew, if I do that, I can bring LBW and bowled into play,” he said.
