In an interesting development ahead of the third Test between India and England, pacer Deepak Chahar was seen at Team India’s training session at Lord’s. While Chahar was not part of the original 18-member squad selected for the tour, his appearance was more coincidental than strategic. The Rajasthan seamer happened to be in London, having attended the Wimbledon Championships with his wife, Jaya Bharadwaj.

With the Indian team also stationed in the city for the Lord’s Test, Chahar briefly reunited with the squad for what appeared to be an informal practice session. Although his presence sparked curiosity, there has been no official confirmation regarding Chahar’s inclusion or a potential call-up.

With the third Test just around the corner, his presence at training may simply have been a friendly drop-in rather than a tactical move—though in a long series, surprises can’t be ruled out.

India’s camp, meanwhile, continues to manage player workloads carefully. Star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, it’s confirmed, will only participate in three of the five Tests. He played the opener at Headingley and is expected to return for the crucial third match at Lord’s. The team had earlier included Harshit Rana as injury cover for the first Test, but thankfully, no injuries disrupted plans.
After a defeat in the first Test, India bounced back emphatically at Edgbaston, levelling the series with a commanding 336-run win. With the momentum on their side, India now eyes a 2-1 lead at the iconic venue.

Shubman Gill has been the batting pillar, amassing 585 runs in just four innings. His elegance and consistency have been pivotal. Meanwhile, Akash Deep, stepping in for Bumrah in the second Test, turned heads with a sensational 10-wicket haul—proving to be a game-changer at Birmingham.
