Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler, Deepak Chahar is likely to be sidelined for a long period of time as he picked up a suspected hamstring injury in the 13th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The pacer injured his hamstring after bowling barely an over against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, April 8.
Notably, during the fifth ball of the first over of the high-octane clash, Deepak Chahar expressed some discomfort but managed to complete his over. The CSK fast bowler was seen hobbling as he left the field right after feeling the discomfort upon which Subhranshu Senapati took the field.

Chahar missed the entire season of IPL in 2022 due to a back injury. If he gets sidelined for an extended period then that can jeopardize CSK’s chances of winning their fifth title in 2023. An official update is yet to be provided by the management as the pacer has headed for scans to understand the duration of the recovery process.
