Delhi Capitals have announced to make a donation in order to help the people in need during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis in India. They have become the second franchise to come forth with help after Rajasthan Royals announced it earlier today.
Delhi Capitals will be donating a sum of Rs 1.5 crores to Hemkunt Foundation and Uday Foundation to support their Covid-19 relief efforts.
India is currently going through the worst phase of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. They are producing a record number of cases along with thousands of others succumbing because of the virus. The shortage of hospital beds and oxygen isn’t helping the cause either.

Australian pacer Pat Cummins started the initiative by donating USD 50K to the PM Cares Fund. Brett Lee followed the cause as well and donated 1 Bitcoin (approx. 40 lakh INR).
Delhi Capitals announced their donation on Twitter in a series of tweets. They will donate the money to two NCR-based NGOs – Uday Foundation and Hemkunt Foundation.

DC said in a statement “The donations will be used to procure essential medical supplies, ranging from oxygen cylinders and concentrators to COVID Wellness Kits.”
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals announced a massive INR 7.5 crores as a donation towards the covid relief.

The runner-up of the IPL 2020, DC, has begun their IPL 2021 season with the same momentum they played with last year. They are currently placed in the third position in the points table and have won four games out of the six they have played so far.
They are facing Kolkata Knight Riders in their seventh game of the season in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. On the other hand, KKR has won only two games while conceding four out of the six games they played. KKR in desperate need to secure a win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive.
