The Indian cricket has won the three-match ODI series against Australia by a 2-1 margin as they registered a 7-wicket win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni has been named as Man of the tournament for his tally of 193 runs with the help of three-half centuries. He only got out in the first ODI and took India over the line in the last two games. While, in the second ODI, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli helped Dhoni, it was the all-rounder Kedar Jadhav who built a 100+ partnership for the fourth wicket t take India over the line.
Jadhav came out to bat in the 30th over of the game with the dismissal of Kohli and India needed more than 100 runs to seal the series and along with Dhoni, Kedar delivered when it was needed the most. It has happened for the first time that the Indian team will be completing an Australian tour without losing a series as first T20I series was leveled at 1-1 and India won the Test series by 2-1.

In the last five overs of the Melbourne ODI, India needed 45 runs and that was the time when Dhoni and Jadhav changed the gears as they scored 12 runs in the 45 overs. As a result of that, the equations, later on, came out to 6 runs in 8 balls with Dhoni on strike. Most of the fans were expecting a si from him but he only managed to smash Peter Siddle for a four straight towards the long off boundary. However, he didn’t got India over the line in the 49 over and Indi needed just one run in the last over.
Jadhav took the responsibility to complete the chase as India was chasing a meager target if 231 runs. He smashed a boundary wide of mid-on and away to the rope. It was a length ball on off and he chips it in the air and into the gap.
