Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been a champion behind the stumps for India. Apart from his wicket-keeping abilities, what works in his favour is his fine judgement.
Despite not being the captain, Dhoni has been instrumental in taking the decision when it comes to the DRS (Decision Review System). The 36-year old wicket-keeper batsman is seen at the forefront every time India has to decide about the DRS. Some experts have even nicknamed the DRS as ‘Dhoni Review System’.
However, Dhoni missed a certain trick today during the ongoing third ODI between India and Sri Lanka. During the penultimate delivery of the 14th over, Sadeera Samarawickrama was stuck right in front by a Kuldeep Yadav delivery. The Indian appealed unsuccessfully, but, never thought of reviewing it.
The replays showed the ball hitting the stumps. Had Dhoni (or Rohit Sharma) gone for the review, the decision would have been overturned.
