Looking ahead to the fourth Test in Ranchi, Jurel shared insights about his admiration for legendary cricketer MS Dhoni and the valuable advice he received from the former Indian captain. Recalling his first encounter with Dhoni during IPL 2021, Jurel admitted to feeling overwhelmed, expressing his eagerness to meet the cricketing icon again during India’s upcoming Test match.

Reflecting on his interaction with Dhoni, Jurel expressed gratitude for the learning experiences gained from each encounter. He emphasized his aspiration to meet Dhoni post the international game, hoping to glean further wisdom from the seasoned campaigner.

โ€œMy first interaction with him was in IPL 2021, which was my first season. At that time, I was pinching myself to see whether it is a dream or not,โ€ said Dhruv Jurel in a video shared by BCCI.

Meanwhile, Jurel’s impactful performance with the bat and his adept wicket-keeping skills have solidified his position in the playing XI. Following the absence of Rishabh Pant, the Indian team experimented with KS Bharat and later Ishan Kishan in the wicket-keeper role. However, it was Jurel who seized the opportunity and made a compelling case for his inclusion in the squad.
