The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik has donned many hats over the course of his career. Cricketer, commentator, and now a weatherman. With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy scheduled to be commencing this week, Karthik announced his return as the ‘weatherman’ for the course of the series. He was out of the national side after the 2019 ODI World Cup, before making a return in 2022, and had taken up the commentary role in the 2021 season.

The 37-year-old is all set to make his home debut as a commentator for the upcoming 4-match Test series between India and Australia. Previously, Karthik was seen performing wicket-keeping duties during India’s tour of England in 2021, where he regularly gave updates about the weather on social media, which used to go viral quickly.

While Dinesh Karthik’s playing career seems to be over considering the practical possibilities, he will be seen playing in the Indian Premier League 2023 next, representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). With the Border Gavaskar Trophy all set to begin, Karthik will be playing his part behind the mic as India will host Australia in Nagpur on February 9.
