Actor Janvi Kapoor has started training at a cricket camp ahead of her upcoming movie ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi.’ The film, which also features Janvi’s ‘Roohi’ co-star Rajkummar Rao, is learned to be featured in the cricket drama and fans are curious to know the story. On Republic Day 2022 (January 26), Janhvi took to her Instagram page and dropped a major hint about her playing a cricketer in the film as she was seen practicing with veteran Indian player, Dinesh Karthik.
In the pictures shared by Hanhvi Kapoor, the actors can be seen sporting a cricket helmet. She also shared a snap of veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik practicing in the nets. Janhvi can also be seen chilling alongside Karthik, film’s director Sharan Sharma and former Indian cricketer Abhishek Nayar, who is known to be a close friend of Dinesh Karthik. These pictures convinced fans about the movie being based on cricket.

Captioning the pictures on Instagram, Janhvi Kapoor wrote: “Cricket camp #MrandMrsMahi”. Meanwhile, Janvi and Rajkumar will play characters named Mahendra and Mahima, respectively, in ‘Mr And Mrs Mahi’. This will also be Janvi’s second movie under the direction of Sharan Sharma. The latter made his directorial debut with the 2020 film, ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’, starring Kapoor in the title role.

With cricket having a massive popularity in India, it would be interesting to see how this movie does on the box office. Speaking of Dinesh Karthik, the 36-year-old would currently be gearing for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Having been associated with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since 2018, Karthik was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2022 mega auction.

As the two new franchises – Lucknow and Ahmedabad respectively – haven’t picked the wicketkeeper either, he will be expected to get some big numbers in the mega auction and is expected to fetch a decent amount.
