Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicket-keeper batter, Dinesh Karthik once again carried out the rescue act for his team in their IPL 2022 clash against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 16. His blistering knock of an unbeaten 66 runs from 34 deliveries at an impressive strike rate of 194.1 propelled RCB to a daunting score of 189/5.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik has reacted to a banner that was carried by a die-hard fan of the Bengaluru-based franchise which read “Drove 1000 kms for you RCB !!!’ and also the team slogan “EE SALA CUP NAMDE!!’ The image of the passionate cricket buff’s love for RCB went viral in no time.

After the viral image came to Dinesh Karthik’s notice, he took to his official Twitter handle, shared the same, and wrote, “Hope the drive was worth it.”

Dinesh Karthik is having a dream run in the ongoing IPL 2022. He has so far amassed 197 runs from six matches averaging 197 and a strike rate of 209.57. In fact, he has been dismissed just once in the six games he has played so far. Karthik has proven to be a match-winner as well as a finisher for Bangalore and he would be hoping to continue his splendid run when RCB will be facing the Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on April 19.

In a video posted on the IPL website, Virat Kohli was seen interviewing Karthik after the DC match. Kohli thanked Karthik for guiding RCB to a challenging total after they were reduced to 92/5 against the DC. The former RCB skipper also claimed that it has been Karthik’s best IPL season since 2013.

In the video, Virat Kohli said, “I am here with the man of the moment, ‘Man of the IPL’ for me so far. It’s been wonderful. This is the best I have seen you bat since IPL 2013.”
