West Indies largely missed their regular skipper Kieron Pollard in the second ODI of the three-match series against India on Wednesday (February 9). The veteran all-rounder missed a do-or-die game for the visitors due to a niggle and Nicholas Pooran took over the captaincy duties. The Caribbean bowlers did well to restrict the Indian team to a meager score of 237/9 in their allotted 50 overs.

However, the batters couldn’t come to the party as the visitors suffered a 44-run defeat, conceding the series 2-0. Many believe the visitors dearly missed the presence of Kieron Pollard and they ended up losing the game. His former teammate DK Bravo also seems to be of the same opinion.

The 38-year-old took to Instagram and shared a widely-circulated joke to troll Pollard over his absence in the 2nd ODI. He shared a ‘missing’ poster featuring Pollard and gave his details as well.

DJ Bravo took a hilarious dig at Kieron Pollard for falling prey to leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for a golden duck in the opening ODI. “Age: 34, Height: 1.85m, Last Seen: In Chahal’s pocket, If Found Please Contact WEST INDIES,” read the details on the poster. Meanwhile, DJ Bravo himself wrote: “This is really a Sad day @kieron.pollard55 my best friend is missing guys pls if u have any info pls inbox me or report to the police”.

Needless to mention, the comment section got flooded in no time and it left the cricketing fraternity in splits. Many members of the cricket fraternity including Dhawal Kulkarni, Fiedel Edwards, Daren Sammy also reacted to the post. Pollard himself shared the same meme and lauded Bravo’s antics on social media. He wrote: “Never a dull moment on the socials..djbravo47 … ohh how I’m missed”.

Meanwhile, the third and final ODI is set to take place on Friday (February 11) at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. It’s yet to be known whether Pollard is fit enough to return to West Indies’ playing XI. Notably, it will be a dead rubber as India has already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Also, the two sides are scheduled to lock horns in a three-match T20I series. Hence, Pollard might give the final game a miss as well.
