Sourav Ganguly denied to compare Virat Kohli from former great Sachin Tendulkar and said he will score many more hundreds in the cricketing field. Indian skipper scored his 50th International century on Monday against Sri Lanka in Eden Gardens. This was the feat, which any Indian couldn’t touch except Sachin Tendulkar.

Kohli scored a stroke-filled unbeaten 104 on 119 balls in the second Indian innings and gave Sri Lanka a target of 231 in the remaining game. Despite putting Sri Lanka on their knees, India couldn’t manage to cross the line as visitors survive a Bhuvneshwar Kumar storm, which reduced them to 75/7. The umpires were not happy with the natural light and took players off the field.

Ganguly said “It’s too early to compare him with Sachin. He still has to make 50 more centuries. But the way he is going, he will make many more such hundreds.”

Asking about the time of declaration, he replied “India needed to be in a comfortable position to declare. They did the right thing.”

Indian fast bowlers put a show on the final day of Kolkata Test and took India into a winning position from nowhere. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami were the wreckers in chief for India. Where Shami ended with match figures of 6/134, Bhuvi was the man of the match for his 8/96. Interestingly, this was the lone incident in the history of Test cricket in India, where spinners remained wicket-less and pacers snared all 17 wickets.

“The bowlers bowled well. They got help from the wicket and made the most of it. Bhuvi and Shami were brilliant,” former skipper concluded with praises for bowlers.
