During the fourth ODI of Pakistan’s tour of India in 2005 at Ahmedabad, Inzamam-ul-Haq stood in between India and victory as Pakistan ended up chasing 316 on the last ball of the innings, with three wickets in hand.
Having lost the third ODI at Jamshedpur by 106 runs, Sourav Ganguly, the then Indian captain, won the toss and elected to bat. Sachin Tendulkar scored his 38th ODI hundred, 123 (130), with the help of 12 fours and two sixes as India ended up scoring 315-6 in 48 overs. With bowling figures of 9-0-67-3, Shoaib Malik was the pick of the Pakistani bowlers.
Pakistan were aided by their Top five as each one of them went on to contribute significantly in the chase. Malik had top-scored with 65 (65) with the help of three fours. Inzamam, who hit the winning runs off Sachin Tendulkar, ended up scoring 60* (59) with the help of five fours.
