Dushmantha Chameera lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium with a moment of sheer brilliance in Delhi Capitals’ high-voltage clash against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025. With Mitchell Starc steaming in to bowl the 20th over, Anukul Roy tried to make the most of the pace, attempting a flick over the square leg boundary. For a moment, it looked destined to fetch a six, but Dushmantha Chameera had other plans. Patrolling the deep, he covered serious ground to his left and then, with incredible timing and full commitment, leapt sideways and stuck out both hands. The ball nestled cleanly into his palms as he completed one of the finest outfield catches of the season.

The crowd erupted, commentators were left in awe, and even opposition players couldn’t help but acknowledge the athleticism on display. Dushmantha Chameera’s catch not only brought an end to KKR’s innings with a jolt but also potentially saved his side valuable runs in the death overs.
