The international stars also showed their appreciation for cricket. One such example is Ed Sheeran, the four-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter from the UK.
The 33-year-old musician recently had an open conversation with Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma and young star Shubman Gill during an episode of “Breakfast with Champions” hosted by Gaurav Kapoor. In the interview, Ed Sheeran talked about his relationship with the game, especially about his friendship with the legendary Australian cricketer Shane Warne, who passed away in 2022 after a heart attack at the age of 52.

Ed continued to tell the anecdotes of those memorable times spent with the legendary leg-spinner Warne and even talked about playing cricket with the Rajasthan Royals players. The team that Warne had led to victory in the inaugural IPL season of 2008 remains special for Sheeran.

In respect to this legend, the very fact that the IPL franchise presented Sheeran with Warne’s jersey makes the moment all the more special. The video was wonderful with Rajasthan Royals’ bright young all-rounder, Riyan Parag, seen bowling to Sheeran as the cricketing world and the global music icon were to be enthralled by such a connection.
