The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will now be chaired by Ehsan Mani, who will be replacing his predecessor Najam Sethi. Mani, who was earlier the president of ICC was nominated to the Board of Governors (BoG) by the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan and he has been elected unopposed as according to Pakistan’s constitution, their PM is the actual leader of the PCB.

Sethi submitted his resignation from the PCB last month and soon after that, Imran Kahn wasted no time in nominating Mani to the BoG, surprisingly, he announced it on Twitter. Four days later, he nominated Asad Ali Khan, a chartered accountant like Ehsan, as his second nomination to the BoG. According to the PCB constitution, the leader nominates two members to the BoG.

Mani, a Chartered Accountant by profession, was elected as the ICC President in 2003. He represented PCB in the sport’s world body from 1989 till 1996 and afterward, he was consistently elected as the chairman of ICC Finance and Marketing committee.
