After winning the recently concluded three-match T20I series by the 1-2 margin against the host England, India once again dominated in this tour by winning the first ODI of the three-match ODI series at Trent Bridge (Nottingham) on Thursday (July 12). Now, by leading the short series with the 0-1 margin, India will face the hosts once again at Lord’s (London) on Saturday’s (July 14) day game that will begin on 15:30 IST.

After Kuldeep Yadav’s impressive and disciplined bowling with the figure of 10-0-25-6, opener Rohit Sharma (137*) and the skipper Virat Kohli (75) did the final job with their bats.

In the first game, England had a very good opening start but once again they failed against the wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the young left-arm chinaman is continuously threatening the strong and attacking English batsmen on their most familiar tracks. In very easy language, English batsmen have totally surrendered in front of Yadav.

English batsmen have to solve this biggest issue in the very short period of time otherwise India will easily take away this ODI series too.

English bowlers were also helpless and clueless against the strong Indian batting line-up as the Indian batsmen chased the 269-run target in a comfortable way.

Coming to the Indian cricket team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s injury is the major concern for the Indian pace-bowling line-up especially when they missed Jasprit Bumrah in this ODI series and most of the other pacers have not much international cricket experiences (excluding Umesh Yadav).

It means the major responsibilities of the bowling line-up have come on the wrist-spinners’ shoulders.

In the first ODI, the total Indian batting line-up was not tested while the top-order dominated over the hosts’ bowling line-up. The recent impressive top-order forms give enough satisfaction about the team.

Both teams will try to win the Saturday’s game as India will complete their ODI series victory, while the desperate hosts England can level the ODI series.
