Eng vs Ind: Kuldeep Yadav Returns To The Test Squad

While the limited-overs series in the ongoing England tour has ended on a rough note for the men in blue, the Indian cricket team is now getting ready for the long five-match Test series, starting from August 1. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has announced the Indian squad for the Test series after on Wednesday. Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur had made comeback in the Test squad.

After winning the three-match T20I series by the 2-1 margin, India lost the three-match ODI series by 1-2 as the Tuesday’s series decider exploited the shortcomings of Virat Kohli and his men. 

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Wriddhiman Saha will be missing the first three Tests due to Injury. BCCI’s report suggested that Bhuvi has aggravated his lower back injury in the 3rd ODI and his condition is being assessed & a call on his inclusion in the Test squad will be made soon. While Saha, who sustained a finger injury in IPL 2018 will be replaced by Dinesh Karthik in the first three Tests.

Kuldeep and Shardul have been recalled in the Test squad along with Karun Nair, while Rishabh Pant has received his maiden call-up in the national squad in the longest format after his exploits in ongoing India A tour to England.
