In the second T20I match of the ongoing three-match series against England in Cardiff, India skipper lost the toss and asked to bat first and Eoin Morgan’s decision gave him rich rewards as the men in blue were down to 31/3 after the powerplay overs and they end up scoring 148/5 owing the knocks of Virat Kohli (47) and MS Dhoni (32).
Coming in to chase, the hosts didn’t have the best of starts as they were down to 42/2 after the powerplay overs. However, the fifth over of the chase was eventful over as first Kohli dropped Jos Buttler off the bowling of Umesh Yadav and then in the same over he got another chance to take the catch, he didn’t gave this chance away and made the in-form batsman walk towards the pavilion.
On the third bowl of the over, Buttler sliced the ball full ball to mid off and Kohli jumped in the air, but he can’t hold on to the catch. He wasn’t in control when the ball finally got into his hands. On the very next ball, Umesh again bowled a full on off and Buttler lifts that one over Kohli and the ball the ball had gone one-bounce to the long-off boundary.
The last ball of the over gave Virat a chance to redeem and he was ecstatic at it. It was a length ball outside off and once again Buttler’s made too much room. Mistimes a flat-batted shot to mid off once again, and this time Kohli makes no mistake.
