The gun attack took place on Sunday evening during a Jewish Hanukkah celebration near Bondi Beach, where assailants opened fire on a crowd of nearly 1,000 people. The brutal incident claimed 15 lives, including that of a 10-year-old girl, and left dozens injured. Australian police confirmed that a father and son carried out the attack, with the father killed in a shootout and the son critically wounded.
Authorities later classified the incident as a terrorist attack, drawing strong condemnation from leaders and organisations around the world. In their statement, CA and the ECB said they were “horrified by the tragic events at Bondi Beach” and extended heartfelt condolences to the victims, their families, the Jewish community, and the people of Australia.
