There are next to no doubts over the chances of England at the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Every cricket pundit is calling them the pre-tournament favorite along with India, who is also is a great run of form. However, former England skipper Michael Vaughan is afraid of something which can hamper England’s chances at the marquee event.
Vaughan is worried about England’s batting collapses, which was visible during the second One-Day International against West Indies. The Three Lions lost the game from a winning position. This seems to a chink in the armory of England and Vaughan is afraid of it at the World Cup.

The former England cricketer feels that the team has everything in it to win the mega event which will be played at home from May 30. But Vaughan highlighted the frequent collapses after every few games and added that their World Cup campaign could be in trouble in that case.
“England have got everything required to win the World Cup except for these moments of madness. It happens every four or five games and if it happens in the semi-final then they are out,” Michael Vaughan was quoted as saying by BBC.
Vaughan also gave the example of the World Cup-winning sides in 2011 and 2015 and pointed out that the India and Australia teams then didn’t have such collapses ahead of the World Cup which England are having regularly.
“The India side around the time they won the 2011 World Cup didn’t have the day England had in Barbados on Friday. The Australia side that won in 2015 lost the odd game but they didn’t have moments like England do on a consistent basis. In that Champions Trophy semi-final against Pakistan, it was just 10 or so overs where England lost four quick wickets and the game was over. That’s my concern for them in the World Cup,” Vaughan added.

England will play this World Cup in their own den and that’s why they are expected to lift the trophy for the first time. They will begin their campaign against South Africa on May 30.
