Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the full fixtures of England tour of West Indies 2018/19 where they will play three-match Test series, five-match ODI series and three-match T20I series from January 23 to March 10, 2019.
England will begin their tour campaign with three-match Test series which will be followed by five-match ODI series and three-match T20I series. In the addition, England will play two warm-up games on this tour. Prior to the Test series, the visiting side will play a four-day warm-up (15-18 January 2019) game while England will also play a 50-over warm-up game (17 February 2019) before the beginning of the ODI series. According to the CWI website, England cricket team will arrive in the West Indies on 11 January 2019.
Since England had toured in West Indies in 2008/09, where both had played five-Test match series, only T20I and five-ODI series respectively, the 2018/19 English tour will be the biggest international home series for Windies. Last time, England toured in West Indies in March 2017 where they played only a three-match bilateral ODI series that England won by the 0-3 margins.
The CWI CEO, Johnny Grave said, “England coming to the region is always a special occasion for cricket fans, and we are pulling out all the stops for a successful series on and off the field. West Indies fans create a unique spectator atmosphere and not only do England fans add to this, they bring in a significant tourism boost to the region as thousands will travel here to enjoy the cricket and experience the unique Caribbean culture and hospitality.”
