Former Lucknow Super Giants batter Evin Lewis produced another explosive moment in the Caribbean Premier League as Antigua and Barbuda Falcons took on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Lewis smashed a massive six that cleared the midwicket boundary and sent the ball out of the stadium, with the stunning shot quickly going viral on social media.

The Falcons began their 188-run chase poorly, losing Amir Jangoo for just two runs in the opening over. They managed only eight runs during the first two overs before trying to increase the scoring rate. However, their progress was interrupted again when they lost their second wicket in the fifth over.

Lewis then provided the much-needed aggression during the final over of the powerplay. Facing left-arm spinner Waqar Salamkheil, the experienced left-hander immediately looked to attack. When Salamkheil bowled one short, Lewis quickly rocked back and unleashed a powerful pull over midwicket. The ball sailed comfortably beyond the boundary, producing one of the biggest sixes of the contest.

Despite his attacking approach, Lewis could not convert his start into a half-century. He scored 48 runs from 38 deliveries, including five sixes, before Kyle Mayers dismissed him in the 14th over. Lewis has endured an inconsistent campaign so far, although he had also scored 48 in the Falcons’ previous match against St Lucia Kings. In his other two appearances, he failed to reach double figures.

His dismissal left the game delicately poised, with the Patriots striking again from the very next delivery. After Shadab Khan provided a brief cameo and wickets continued to fall in quick succession, the Falcons eventually needed 19 runs from the final two overs.

The Patriots struggled to close out the match as both Waqar Salamkheil and Wanindu Hasaranga battled injuries. Salamkheil bowled through cramps in the penultimate over but conceded 12 runs, while captain Moeen Ali returned to bowl the final over.

The Falcons now have two wins from four matches and sit fifth in the points table, while the Patriots remain at the bottom with just one victory from their opening four games.
