West Indies have been witnessing some great success in the T20Is lately. After facing a slender series defeat against the Proteas, the T20 specialists made a phenomenal comeback to run through the Australian team. The tide of the 5-match T20I series changed with Fabian Allen being at the center of it.

The hosts pulled off a series win by a 4-1 margin after a high-scoring encounter at St.Lucia. After deciding to bat first, West Indies posted a commanding total of 199-8 in their quota of 20 overs. Evin Lewis led the charge with his brilliant knock of 79 runs which came off just 34 deliveries. The explosive left-hander also capped 9 sixes in his innings.

Following a bright set of cameos by the middle order and a largely erratic bowling display by the Australian team, West Indies set a huge target of 200. The contest was largely in the balance despite an early wicket falling for the Aussies. Skipper Aaron Finch and in-form Mitchell Marsh had made most of the powerplay and were meeting the asking run-rate as well.

Aaron Finch was knocking the ball all across the venue with a decent strike rate. In a bid to punish a poor ball from Hayden Walsh Jr, the skipper’s innings ended. The leg-spinner bowled a juicy full toss right in Finch’s arc. The Australian skipper almost proceeded to connect it with full might down the ground.

Here is the video of the catch:

While he did not get the required elevation for a maximum, Finch had placed it well enough to steer it straight and away from the fielders stationed at long-on.

However, Fabian Allen came running in from his position close to the boundary line. The all-rounder timed his run and the dive to pouch the ball in his favorable left-hand. Due to the angle of the dive, it was highly probable that the ball would bounce off his hands upon contact with the ground. However, he displayed excellent composure to avoid that and managed to grab a clean catch.
