The resurgence of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the latter part of the IPL 2024 season has defied expectations and captivated cricket enthusiasts worldwide. Initially languishing at the bottom of the league table with just one win in their first eight matches, RCB’s remarkable turnaround has been nothing short of sensational. From facing the prospect of matching their own record for the lowest number of wins in a single campaign to securing five consecutive victories, they have stunned fans and critics alike.
Speaking at the post-match conference following RCB’s impressive 47-run triumph over the Delhi Capitals, captain Faf du Plessis exuded confidence and pride in his team’s resurgence. He highlighted RCB’s ethos of “Play Bold” and expressed satisfaction at witnessing their bold approach translate into stellar performances on the field.

“We want to play that style of cricket – RCB talks about playing bold, and just proud that we can actually do that now, putting our performance together,” remarked Faf du Plessis.
Acknowledging the team’s recent batting prowess and unwavering commitment, Du Plessis commended RCB for consistently surpassing the 200-run mark in five of their last seven matches. He also lauded the remarkable improvement in the bowling department, particularly evident in their ability to dismiss opposition teams consistently.
The victory against DC marked the third successive instance of RCB bowling out their opponents, underscoring their bowling unit’s resurgence in the latter part of the season.

“From a batting perspective, we’ve been around that 200 mark six-seven games in a row now [five in their last seven], so boys are batting really well. And then the bowling obviously – I think the first five or six games, we almost couldn’t get wickets at all, and now, this is the third time [in a row] we have bowled a team out. So that’s a good effort,” added Faf du Plessis.
