Faf du Plessis Feels Anuj Rawat Is Future Of Indian Cricket

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered a 7-wicket win over Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match at the MCA Stadium in Pune. RCB are sitting in third place behind KKR and GT, while MI is still searching for a win and now they are reeling at the bottom of the table, joined by defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), losing all four games so far.

Suryakumar Yadav played a decent knock of 68 runs off just 37 balls, but his efforts went in vain as Rohit Sharma and his men failed to defend a 151-run lead. Wanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel took two wickets each, with Akash Deep getting one as well.

Even though RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis only manage to play a below-par knock of 16 runs off 24 balls, and Virat Kohli was dismissed just two runs short of a half-century, the team still managed to seal the win, thanks to a wonderful knock by RCB opener Anuj Rawat (66 runs off 47 balls), who played an instrumental in getting the win.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis was all praise for Anuj Rawat, saying that he is playing beautifully and is a player for the future of the team.

Elaborating the same, Faf du Plessis said, “I spoke about him before at the start of the tournament. Just looking from the potential that he has. Lots of conversations between the two of us. Trying to get that potential and that skill that he has to game awareness.”

He further added, The way he’s playing at the moment is beautiful, the way he takes on the game even early on coming down the wicket, showing that unteamed. That’s what makes the young guy young gun, so good for us at the moment. He’s a very good player for the future.”
