Faf du Plessis To Miss The Second Phase Of IPL 2021 Due To Injury?

On Friday, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) contingent reached Dubai Friday for the second phase of the IPL 2021 arrived at Dubai. However, there seems to be an injury concern with their start player, Faf Du Plessis, who recently pulled out from The Hundred on Friday following a blackout session.

Former South African skipper Faf du Plessis was leading the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred Men’s tournament. In the game at Headingley, Faf witnessed the reemergence of cerebral pains. After an interview with Superchargers Medical Staff, it was concluded that it will be better for the South African to pull out. He had later accepted that he neglected to recuperate from a blow endured to his head a couple of months ago in the PSL.

Faf du Plessis planning to play the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 ad later on in the IPL 2021. The CSK star sustained the injury when his head crashed into his Quetta Gladiators’ colleague Mohammad Hasnain’s knee during a game against Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi in June. The injury forced him to get ruled out of the entire tournament. However, CSK will be expecting Faf to get well soon as it will help the MS Dhoni-led team to claim another IPL title.

The 37-year-old, who opens the batting for CSK has been one of the pillars for the three-time champions. In the seven games for CSK recently, Du Plessis had amassed 320 runs at a strike pace of 145.45 and was the third-highest run-getter before the sudden halt o the tournament.
