Faf du Plessis withdraw from T20I series

South African skipper Faf du Plessis has been withdrawn from the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, which will commence from October 26.

Du Plessis suffered a lower back strain during the third One-Day International match versus the same opponent. He was playing on 91 before getting retire hurt. In his absence, JP Duminy will lead the side and Dwaine Pretorius has been named as his replacement.

South Africa’s team manager Dr. Mohammed Moosajee confirmed this setback and said “Faf sustained an acute left lumbar (lower-back) strain while batting and immediately left the field in extreme discomfort. He will return back to Cape Town overnight for investigation and further management. He has been withdrawn from the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh starting in Bloemfontein on Thursday.”

With his effort, South Africa posted a mammoth total of 369, which Bangladesh failed to chase and lost the match by 200 runs. Thus, South Africa completes a whitewash of 3-0.
